In June 2000, my children and I moved to Nelson County for work and a life change. While I was born in Kentucky, raised in New Jersey and attended college in Farmville, Virginia, I felt a wonderful sense of community when we arrived in Nelson County. People at church, in the schools and in my neighborhood welcomed us and made us feel like we had been here forever. 22 years later, I have never regretted that move and only wanted to give back to this wonderful community.
